Quicke sterile lancets are used to puncture hairless parts of the body, such as from the ear, to obtain small blood samples. Since pet skin is thin and delicate, the lancets are of suitable length and are used in conjunction with a lancing device, which bolsters and restricts lancet penetration to prevent piercing through delicate areas such as the pets ear.
How to use
Prepare your pet
Make sure that your pets ear is warm. If not, hold it between your hands for about 1 minute. Warming the earflap makes collecting a drop of blood easier.
Prepare your lancet & lancing device
Insert the lancet into the lancing device
Pierce your pets ear with a lancing device
Place your fingers on the back of your pets ear and gently press down with the lancing device
Collect a blood sample
A small drop of blood will appear. Collect the drop onto the blood glucose test strip
Take care of your pet
Gently but firmly press some clean cotton or gauze onto your pets ear until it stops bleeding.
